Come have fun with Akahana

Categories: News | Posted: January 9, 2013 | Comments Off

Liu Liu’s has recently closed, but they have sold their business to a new restaurant.  Akahana Asian Bistro, Bar and Sushi will be opening in March.  This will be a second location for Akahana.  They have been in business for several years in Charlotte at Plaza Midwood.  Akahana will offer a fun, casual atmosphere serving fresh Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Sushi and Hibachi.  Their slogan is “Come have fun with us”.  They plan to open in March after some renovation. Until then, you can experience Akahana at their Charlotte location or online at http://www.akahanaasianbistro.com.

Please help us welcome our newest restaurant to Baxter Town Center!

to the kids (of all ages) along the route. Be sure to come out, say hello & collect some goodies before
going inside for dinner!

Please note that the route will begin in Town Center at 4:00 and circle through the neighborhood from there.

Something for Everyone at Baxter Village

Categories: News | Posted: September 4, 2012 | Comments Off

When you mention Baxter Village, the planned community in Fort Mill South Carolina, most would say “Oh yes, a great family neighborhood: front porches, walkable neighborhoods, great amenities, parks, convenient to great schools, shopping and restaurants”. Well this is all true, and these elements attract all age groups!

When my wife and I moved back to Charlotte from the coast a few years ago, we wanted to keep our place but also find a small house here. We knew of Baxter and been there many times, but as empty-nesters, never really considered it as a place for us to live.  We thought it was oriented towards families with children.

We began our search in the area looking for house style, price, proximity to work, convenience to shopping and services in addition to a walkable neighborhood. What we found were bits and pieces of everything we were looking for but not everything in one place.

We decided to go back and revisit Baxter again. It was so convenient off I-77 and had most everything we were looking for however; since we thought it was a family oriented neighborhood, we didn’t think we could find a small home with a master down. One of the last sections of Baxter that was being developed had moderately priced cottage-style homes that suited us. We bought the home, and after five months of construction moved in.

Now, two years later, we are still enjoying our Baxter cottage. All the same great things that families with children are attracted to are also the same we empty-nesters like. It’s a pretty simple recipe, no matter what the age group; we all desire the qualities that make a great community!
